AO3 Private Privacy Policy

AO3 Private is designed to improve your private browsing experience on Archive of Our Own. The extension does not collect, sell, transmit, or share your personal data.

Last updated:

1. What this extension does

AO3 Private is a browser extension for Archive of Our Own (AO3). It may provide privacy-oriented interface features such as hiding, filtering, or locally managing AO3-related page information in your browser.

2. Data collection

AO3 Private does not collect personal information, browsing history, AO3 account information, reading activity, search queries, works, bookmarks, comments, kudos, or any other user content.

The extension does not use analytics, advertising trackers, telemetry, fingerprinting, or remote logging.

3. Local storage

If AO3 Private saves settings, preferences, or extension state, that information is stored locally in your browser. Local data is used only to make the extension function as expected on your device.

Local data is not uploaded to the developer, sold to third parties, or shared with external services by this extension.

4. AO3 account and page content

AO3 Private may read AO3 pages in your browser only to provide its extension features. It does not receive your AO3 password and does not attempt to access your AO3 account outside the pages you open.

Your relationship with AO3 is governed by AO3’s own terms and privacy practices. AO3 Private is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or operated by Archive of Our Own.

5. Permissions

Browser permissions requested by AO3 Private are used only for core extension functionality, such as running on supported AO3 pages, applying local display changes, or saving local preferences.

The extension does not request permissions for advertising, profiling, or selling data.

6. Third-party sharing

AO3 Private does not share user data with third parties. The extension does not transfer personal data to external servers controlled by the developer.

7. Data deletion

Because AO3 Private does not collect or store user data on developer servers, there is no server-side account or profile to delete. You can remove locally stored extension data by clearing the extension storage in your browser or uninstalling the extension.

8. Children’s privacy

AO3 Private is not directed to children and does not knowingly collect data from children.

9. Changes to this policy

This policy may be updated when the extension changes or when legal, browser-store, or platform requirements change. Updates will be reflected on this page by changing the “Last updated” date.

10. Contact

If you have questions about this privacy policy, contact the extension developer through the support channel listed on the extension’s store page or project page.
